24 Seven has heralded a new era for UK mobile communications with the launch of the new roaming SIM card, Jump®, introduced at the MVNO world congress in Nice. Managing Director, David Samuel, explained the need for better mobile connectivity in the UK, amongst leading international figures in mobile communications as they gathered at the prominent event.
During a seminar focusing on M2M and the Internet of Things, the many applications for the new technology were highlighted, extending far beyond simple voice and mobile handset data applications. The Jump® SIM card was launched by 24 Seven this Spring, and has already been taken up by businesses in a variety of sectors, including healthcare, automotive and utilities.
The MVNO world congress gathered industry leaders from the mobile communications world, to discuss the latest trends, technologies and developments. 24 Seven were invited to attend, following the successful trailling of its new roaming SIM during the Autumn of 2014.
David Samuel said: “The Jump SIM was really well received in front of this international audience. Many of the delegates were surprised about the lack of coverage on offer in the UK and were engaged with our solution. Jump® can help a wide variety of businesses who rely on mobile signal.”
The solution has been in development since late 2013, and uses several mobile networks to ensure the best chances of getting a mobile signal. According to Ofcom figures, only 68% of the UK is covered by all four mobile network operators. A multi-network solution helps users to eliminate poor coverage.
